Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

Jim Bob, I had a great time at the Rockets game last night, even though we lost. I got Shane Battier's autograph during the shootaround before the game. The Rockets problems right now seem to be more...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

I was happy to see Everett in the 2-spot. Having a high obp guy batting 2nd like Ensberg makes sense but the rest of the lineup is so offensive that I don't think we have that luxury. I think its...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

pillage, I think by simply calling up Hunter Pence to become the everyday starter in center field will give the Astros the type of boost they need, both offensively and defensively. I can't help but...

Quote: The reason why I want Everett in the 2nd is that maybe he can learn to be more patient. From the innings that I saw, that was the problem with the batting. Everyone is just trying to do way too...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

I agree, Barzilla. I think Everett's problems at the plate stand out when the guys who are supposed to be our big hitters don't hit. In theory, Everett meets expectations offensively. No one expects...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

Yeah, once the philosophy/roster is set then you let guys do what they do well. I think the complaint is with the philsophy of having three (now two) weak hitters in the lineup at the same time. Yet,...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

I think Hunter Pence can be an ideal 2-hitter in the lineup. He can even leadoff a lot like a young Barry Bonds did for the Pirates. Either way, I really want to see this kid starting in center field,...

It's not "starting crap", it's called making a point. And I specifically pointed to the post, and not the poster, because it's a logical fallacy that repeats itself quite a lot.If Crash wants to...

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

Well, I've watched Biggio and Burke and Berkman stand around out there and I can't really say I've yet to see any of them "play centerfield". It's hard to see how Pence could do any worse.

Re: Will this become a problem over time ?

I saw 5 spring training games in which Pence played OF for about 10 total innings (usually as a sub). From what I saw he looked very good to me. Fast, but not quite Taveras fast. His long strides...
